Tonight I poured a dram that reminded me of my morning porridge, but way more interesting. At first whiff, it's like opening a bag of pure crushed barley – a bit sharp, almost green. Very pale, virtually white in the glass. Took a sip and got this sweet barley syrup note right away, mixed with a crisp granny smith apple juice vibe. There's a whisper of white asparagus in there too, fresh and vegetal. It's pretty simple on the palate, very naked and young. The finish is where it gets fun. A hint of cappuccino sneaks in after a second, and then a little yoghurt tang. Something slightly acetic lingers, which actually makes it more interesting. Almost no wood influence, so all the cereal and fruit notes are front and centre. Not bad at all, quite refreshing.

Tried this one neat first — honestly, quite a straightforward dram. The nose has that pure crushed barley and grist character, a bit like porridge left to cool. Virtually white in appearance, which is interesting. First sip is medium-bodied, pretty simple actually. Very little wood influence here, feels quite newmakey. Something slightly acetic in there, maybe? Gets more to my liking with a drop of lime juice though — suddenly that apple juice and granny smith apple note pops out. After a while, it develops this mentholy and sugary thing, almost like peppermint syrup over white chocolate. Weirdly reminds me of white asparagus too. Can’t decide if the Curacao note is intentional or just imagination. All in all, a perfectly good one for a casual evening. My sister batch would probably love this more than me. Though I reckon the official 18 would tend to try to kill this one’s simplicity. 🥃

First sip hits with something slightly acetic, kinda like apple juice left out a bit. Then barley syrup comes through, really pure crushed barley vibe. It feels pretty naked, pretty simple upfront. Mentholly and sugary development starts creeping in though... interesting. You know, it reminds me of granny smith apples with a drop of lime juice squeezed on top. There's a little yoghurt tang in there too. Mid-palate gets this weird note... honestly, it’s like toddler's gym socks but in a strangely okay way? White asparagus shows up as well. The finish brings cappuccino in the aftertaste, which is more to my liking. It's a sister batch to something, but on its own it’s a perfectly good one. For an official 18, it’d tend to try to kill this one. A bit newmakey still, with some curação peeking through the grist. Not bad though 😊

This one's virtually white, almost like barley water. Tastes of fresh grist and pure crushed barley – a bit of apple juice, granny smith tartness. Medium body with a little yoghurt tang and peppermint syrup sweetness. No toddler's gym socks here, thankfully! Hints of white asparagus and a cappuccino aftertaste. Pretty simple, but more to my liking than some heavier ones. That 'official 18' might try to kill it, but this is gentle. 😊

刚倒了一杯，颜色真是淡，像稀释了的麦芽茶…第一口下去，口感意外地顺滑，有点像温热的燕麦粥。 嘿，居然有青苹果的酸香，不是那种熟透的甜腻，是新鲜摘下来带着露水的那种。让我想起小时候偷喝的苹果汁，不过多了点辛辣的暖意在喉咙里打转。 这杯感觉…挺“赤裸”的？几乎尝不到橡木桶的印记，全是谷物本身的味道，像刚捣碎的大麦直接泡出了汁，有点甜，甚至尝到一丝白巧克力的腻和薄荷糖的凉意。 偶尔会闪过一点奇怪的联想…有点像小朋友运动完之后袜子的那种味道？😂 但很快又被麦芽糖浆的甜盖住了。收尾居然有一丁点类似未完全发酵苹果的酸味。 总的来说，这是一杯非常直率、不怎么装腔作势的酒。没什么复杂的层次，但该有的风味点都踩到了，而且有种返璞归真的干净感。还真挺不错的。🌾
