Ah, this whisky's got a very dry nose – nutty, burnt toast, a touch of black tea, and those wee whiffs of leatherette. Sipping it, I find it earthier, with bitter oranges and chocolate coming through. It's tea-ish, almost. The dryness contrasts with hints of cinnamon. In the aftertaste, there's cocoa, coffeeish notes, a little quiet and dry. The color's gold. Really a very good malt whisky. 😄

Hmm, poured a dram and first thing I notice is how dry the nose is, really no fruits whatsoever – just dark chocolate and fresh coffee beans right up front ☕️ It’s definitely a very good malt whisky, leans into that dryness like a strong black tea with some herbal notes. Feels almost ‘old world’, like something you’d find in a quiet Buckingham study 📚 The shier side makes it a little quiet on the palate, medium body, but the antithesis to fruity drams – I get coffee again, maybe a hint of cocoa. Really reminds me of chocolate biscuits with my evening cuppa 🍫

Tried this one neat first. On the nose, immediately got hit with a mix of burnt toast and old-school instant coffee, very Nescafé-like. There’s a definite earthy, nutty base beneath it all. Palate is where it gets interesting. Less fruity than some, really quite ‘old world’ in style. Think bitter orange peel steeped in strong black tea, with a medium body. A bit shy, maybe? Not loud. The finish is where the chocolate comes through, like a faint dusting of cocoa. Leaves a slightly rubbery, coffee-ground dryness that lingers. All in all, a very good malt whisky. Quiet and thoughtful, more about the earthier, tea-ish notes than anything sweet. ✨

Poured myself a glass and immediately got these wee whiffs of leatherette and something earthier, a bit like damp soil after rain. The colour's a proper rich gold in the glass. First sip, and wow, it's like cold Nescafé left in the pot. Very coffee-forward. There's this shyness to it, though, like it's holding back. The aftertaste is where the Cocoa comes through, really lingers. I keep getting this 'old world' vibe from it, something a bit stubborn and dry. The nose is very dry, almost like sniffing old books. Nutty notes come through next, maybe walnut shells? There's a definite dryness on the palate that sticks around. It's medium in body, nothing loud. Feels a little quiet and introspective, you know? Halfway through, I started noticing bitter oranges, like marmalade that's gone a bit dark, and a solid black tea tannin thing. There's a hint of burnt toast in there too, which I oddly like. A whisper of cinnamon and chocolate pops up right at the end, but zero fruits whatsoever. Honestly, it's the antithesis of a fruity whisky. It's quite herbal, very tea-ish in its structure. A really interesting pour – feels very good malt whisky to me, proper Buckingham stuff, you have to meet it on its own terms. 🤔☕️
