First sip, right away I'm getting this lovely 'bourbon fruity' nose — think citrus zest, maybe some orange peel. Not aggressive at all, just very welcoming. The body's firm though, gives it a nice backbone. Classic fresh, citrusy character throughout. And honestly it stays very much the same from start to finish, which I quite like. Some whiskies change loads but this one's consistent. Getting some real liquorice allsorts vibes on the palate, maybe even jelly babies? That kind of old-school sweet shop thing, you know, all those sweets made thereof from childhood. There's a fresh oaky backbone running through it that grounds everything nicely. More citrus comes through as it opens up. Finish is quite long, with a touch of green oak in the aftertaste that lingers. Not bitter or anything, just... there. Overall very easy to drink. Could easily have another glass without thinking about it. The kind of whisky you'd reach for on a Tuesday evening, nothing complicated, just satisfying. 🥃
