Just had a sip of this – blimey, it's a heavy hitter. Overcooked leather and bitter dark chocolate upfront, like diving into some mature old Burgundy. There's this mulchy, earthy thing going on, with umami vibes and sea salt lingering on the finish. Gamey notes sneak in, almost like miso paste, but it's not too in your face. Wood and spice mix with sweeter bits, kind of like trifle soaked in kirsch. It's really testing the limits with its very heavy sherry, ink-like darkness, and chocolate sauce touches. Walnut oil and hardwood resins add depth, alongside date loaf sweetness. Earthy old style sherry all the way – heavy stuff, but somehow balanced. 🥃

Crikey, this one's proper heavy stuff. First thing I get is this reddish black coffee note, like something overcooked and left on the burner too long. Then it hits you with date molasses and chocolate sauce — really thick and syrupy, like trifle soaked in kirsch that's been sitting in the cellar for decades. There's definitely that earthy old style sherry character, the kind that doesn't really exist in whisky anymore. Preserved dark fruits, walnuts, maybe a touch of cough syrup. And underneath all that, something mulchy, like dried mushrooms and miso paste. Sounds odd but it works. It's testing the limits in terms of intensity, no doubt. The herbal bitters and hardwood resins keep it from being too cloying. Dark chocolate that's proper bitter, almost like ink. A bit of sea salt on the finish too 👌 Very excellent drop if you're in the mood for something big and brooding. Not for every night, but when you want it, nothing else will do.

Hmm, first sip is like walking into an old, damp cellar full of interesting things. Got that earthy, mushroomy thing going on, a bit like wet soil and dried porcini. Then this very heavy, old-school sherry note comes through, almost medicinal, like date molasses and cough syrup – but somehow it works? It’s definitely testing the limits. There’s this savoury, umami vibe, a bit gamey even, mixed with bitter dark chocolate and salted liquorice. Think of a trifle soaked in kirsch, but with a serious, mulchy side. The oak comes through as hardwood resins and a bit of leather. What’s clever is it avoids being too cloying. There are these sweeter, fresher elements in there too, like pickled walnuts or a hint of aniseed, that lift it up. The finish is long, dark and roasty – black coffee with maybe a bit of natural tar liqueur? You even get a little sea salt coming back. It’s a heavy, complex stuff, a bit overcooked in a good way. A very excellent drop if you’re in the mood for something that really makes you think. Cheers. 🥃
