Blimey, this one’s a proper chunky beast. First off, the nose is like cracking open an old wooden chest in a damp cellar – all that hardwood resin and earthy, mushroomy funk. Then you get this very thick, heavy wave of flavour. It’s like savoury walnut oil, old leather, and pickled walnuts, all drenched in a very heavy, earthy sherry that feels almost extinct these days. There’s a real intensity here, testing the limits a bit. Sweet and sour fight it out – soft dark fruit preserves and aniseed meet these deep herbal bitters and that sea salt tang. It’s got this cough syrup, reddish-black coffee vibe, maybe even black coffee sweetened with natural tar liqueur. Mind you, there are these little sweeter and fresher elements trying to peek through, but it’s mostly this savoury, gamey, umami bomb. Like a mature old Burgundy turned up to eleven. Thick, woody, spicy. Definitely not for the faint-hearted, but a very excellent drop if you’re in the mood for something profound. 🍂🛑

Blimey, this one’s a bit of a beast. Smells like someone’s overcooked a game pie, proper gamey notes lifting off the glass, all mixed with this sticky hardwood resins vibe. It’s heavy stuff from the off, almost chewy. The sherry influence is mad, but not in that cloying modern way – more like the profile of sherry that doesn’t really exist in whisky anymore. Very heavy sherry, but somehow kept savoury. I’m getting date loaf smothered in miso paste, a whack of aniseed, and a slick of walnut oil. Then it takes a turn into bitter dark chocolate dipped in salted liquorice. So much umami. Honestly, it’s like a spoonful of slightly herbal cough syrup laden with preserved dark fruits, those soft dark fruit aspects buried under ink and leather, though they’re not dominating. Mid-palate it calms into this umami vibes territory, really savoury, before the finish – medium length – leaves you with a memory of black coffee sweetened with natural tar liqueur. Mad dram 😮‍💨

Lovely cosy dram 🥃 I get soft vanilla, a bit of honey, dried fruit and gentle oak. There’s a wee touch of spice and smoke, but nothing too shouty. Feels warm, smooth-ish, and quite comforting on a chilly evening. Nice lingering sweetness at the end.

Quite warm and cosy, with a bit of honey, oak and spice. Feels mellow but lively, like a wee dram by the fire 🥃 Finish is soft, slightly sweet, and a touch smoky.
