Oh blimey, this one's a curious dram. Dark gold in the glass, right off the bat the smokiness hits you – not a gentle peat smoke, but a very smoky, almost bonfire-like one that just keeps growing. And it's quirky, lots going on. Nose is mainly on pepper and oranges – like a proper orange cake fresh from the oven, with some orange blossom too. There's a touch of rosewater, and a faint metallic side, a bit like a silver spoon. Getting some cardamom and... is that sorrel? Hints of oriental pastries. The palate is interesting. It's becoming big, with that smoke never letting up. There's coffee, definitely, and dark grapes. The cardboardy note I sometimes get in younger malts is there, but it's far from representing straight flaws. It adds a bit of character, really. That metallic touch comes through too, but it's kind of enjoyable alongside the pepper and smoky fruits. Finish is long, with the smokiness and a bit of coffee lingering. Reminds me a bit of marc de Bourgogne, strangely. Overall, it's no classic, but it's quite wonderful in its own quirky way. A proper sipper, that one.

Peppery and orangey straight away 🍊 Bit of coffee, smoke keeps building, with a quirky metallic edge. Not exactly classic, but oddly enjoyable. Long finish, like orange cake and a touch of old-school pastries. Quite wonderful in its own weird way.

Proper cosy dram, this. 🥃 I get soft toffee, a bit of oak, dried fruit and gentle spice. Warms the chest nicely, with a wee smoky edge and a slightly sweet finish. Easy to sip, quite comforting on a chilly evening.

A wee dram with soft smoke, honeyed sweetness and a bit of oak warmth. Feels cosy, slightly spicy, and nicely mellow by the end 🥃✨
