Oh wow, this one just hits you straight away. A huge surge of waxes, right up front, almost like sniffing an old scented candle. Then it shifts into these sharp, earthy notes... pine resins and something weirdly like petrol, but in a good way? Wait, then you get this lovely, bright lychee and honey sweetness cutting through. The aftertaste is long and herbal, reminds me of heather ale. It's big and complex... I'm getting old riesling, green plums, and something of truffle oil. Really oily and waxy in texture. Those bitter citrus peels and sandalwood linger, with this sooty, toasted cereal base. A truly majestic whisky. 🏴
