Right, took a sip and whoa, so much going on. First hit is like a crisp white wine, then this sweet orgeat syrup vibe – a bit like marzipan, you know?
But wait, green tea bitterness comes through, balancing it out. 😊
As it develops, I get tobacco notes, subtle but there. The minerality starts to border on smokiness, almost like ash from a bonfire. Bitter almonds pop up again, and I'm thinking, 'This is one of the greatest distillates I've encountered.'
Fruity side with grapefruits and green oranges, zesty and fresh. There's a waxy feel, like beeswax, and a hint of plasticine – oddly comforting. Green pepper adds a spicy edge.
Perfect, really. Linseed oil gives it an earthy depth, and herbal teas with a quinine-y bitterness round it off. Coriander and clay layers make it complex.
Fully that classic highland style, with real depth and structure. Quite the dram! 🥃
