Poured a dram of this deep gold liquid... the aroma hits you with loads of cinnamon straight away. Like, really really oaky and woody. First sip is quite spicy, ginger and caraway bread kind of warmth. Then it gets really drying, almost gritty on the tongue. Hmm, almost over-infused tea bitter... and sawdust, honestly. 😅 There's a bit of coconut cream and maple syrup sweetness fighting to get through, but the oak... wow. Frankly, this cask feels a bit too much. It's like chewing pencil shavings dusted with bitter cocoa. Finish is long but very dry, spicy and dry. The oak just gets more and more in the way as you go. Quite a character. 🤔

Just tried a dram – it's this lovely gold colour that catches the eye. 😊 Nose gives off pencil shavings and sawdust straight away, honestly it's very oaky, maybe even frankly over-oaked. Tastes quite drying and very dry, with a gritty mouthfeel. I get hints of ginger, coconut cream, and bags and bags of cinnamon – really warming. There's maple syrup sweetness there too, but more and more oak gets in the way as you sip. I also pick up lavender and Caraway bread, which is a bit unexpected. Finish has bitter cocoa and over-infused tea notes, and the arrival is rather spicy. Medium overall, but that oak is dominant. Not bad for a change, though! 👍

Just had a sip, and it hits hard with that typical oak juice flavor – like straight from the cask. There's a sweetness of maple syrup, but also an over-infused tea edge. Notes of pencil shavings and lavendar pop up. Very oaky throughout, and the finish is drying, really very dry, with a gritty texture. Better vatted this cask with something else, I reckon. 🥃

Just poured a glass – first thing that hits is this warm vanilla and a big whiff of orange zest, kinda like marmalade toast. 🍊 Taste-wise, it’s got this rounded, almost syrupy thing with black tea tannins and a surprising little kick of rye spice. A bit of a bitter edge comes through, but then there’s this lovely clove-y aftertaste that sticks around. Rather long finish, actually. The oak feels a tad heavy-handed for me, not buying all of it. But underneath, I’m getting little flashes of raspberry jam and buckwheat crepes? Oddly comforting. 🫖
