Whiskyspace Notes 1473

First thing that hits me is just... wood. Like, really very oaky. Almost like sucking on a plank, quite frankly over-oaked for my taste. It's so drying on the palate, a rather spicy arrival that turns into pencil shavings very quickly. Gets very dry and gritty in the middle. After a bit, some interesting notes pop up – Caraway bread maybe, and then bags and bags of cinnamon. It's like spicy bread sprinkled with custard, but more and more oak gets in the way of enjoying it. Finish is all bitter cocoa and that woody dryness. Whew. 🥃
