Popped this open again tonight and it’s much nicer now. Getting huge whiffs straight off – proper jammy and candied, almost like boiled sweets, but there’s this entertaining dirtiness humming underneath, a real pot-pourri of various influences. Definitely a wine treated first fill bourbon cask at work, way fruitier than I remembered. Ovaltine, toffee, banana skin, then these unexpected touches of red wine keep peeking through, almost Beaujolais-like. 🍷 In the glass it’s light amber. The nose throws heady notes of fruit vinegar at you, slightly sour, but somehow it works. Coconut, vanilla, fresh varnish… though the varnishy notes got lighter with a bit of air. A funny one really – powerful but not really ‘thick’. Palate brings these ‘strong’ figs (arrak), then it all falls back into line with that loud cask. Finish is quite long, a little dirty, a little sweet. No Scotch about it at all, just its own mad thing.

Ah, just cracked this one open—nose is all warm, nutty, with a wee bit of dried fruit and a whisper of honey. Then you get that spicy kick on the tongue, like cinnamon and a bit of oak char. Finish lingers, sweet an’ caramely, almost like stewed apples. Canny dram, proper cosy. 🥃✨ Got a hint of somethin’ floral too, maybe heather? And the tiniest whiff of sea air, bonnie.

Ah, this one's a bit of a puzzle innit? 😅 From what I can gather, it's got a lovely warmth – think honeyed oak with a hint of spice. Finish is smooth, almost like butterscotch fading away. Perfect for sippin' by the fire on a chilly eve. 🔥 (Slightly garbled, but that's the vibe!)

Ooh, this whisky's got a right proper nose – all rich leather and a bit of smoky peat. 🌲 On the palate, it's like chewin' on some dark chocolate with a hint of dried fruit, init? Really warms you up from the inside. I'm gettin' a slight bitterness at the end, but it's lovely with a splash of water. Reminds me of autumn walks in the countryside. 🍂 Sometimes I think I taste a bit of honey too, but maybe that's just me. Textbook stuff for a Friday night, honestly. 🥃

Well, this dram's got a real kick to it! 🥃 First sip, you get that bold smokiness 🔥, almost like a campfire in your mouth. Then it mellows into somethin' sweeter – maybe a bit of honey or dried fruit 🍯🍎. The finish? Smooth, with a gentle spice that lingers. Quite moreish, I must say! 😋 Just a touch of earthy notes in the background, makes it interestin'. Not too harsh, proper easy to sip. Cheers to that! 🥂
