Oh mate, just had a rather interesting dram tonight. 😊 First thing that hit the nose was this lovely mix of ripe mango and guava – tropical vibes, you know? Then there’s this subtle smokiness, a bit like lapsang souchong tea, which ties in nicely with the fruit. When you take a sip, it’s like the oak steps forward – quite a presence, but honestly, it works surprisingly well with those fruity notes. Almost feels like the fruits are playfully pushing back against the wood on your tongue. There’s a hint of white pepper tickle, and in the finish, some cinnamon warmth sneaks in. Oh, and that odd touch of liquorice allsorts and something vaguely mentholated? Makes me think of dry cough syrup, but in a strangely charming way. For something this pale – especially for a 44-year-old – it’s got a lovely coating texture. Really quite unusual, that je ne sais quoi you can’t quite put your finger on. Globally? It’s hitting a great spot. Very good indeed. 🥃

Right, so I tried this one last night and it's sort of winning – the oakiness really works well in tandem with the fruits, giving it a nosedive into complexity that's quite unusual. It's got that oaky vibe with white pepper kick, and globally it's in the same ballpark as some solid pours, but there's a je ne sais quoi about it. Hints of lapsang souchong tea come through, like a smoky edge, alongside a fruity combo of apples, guavas, and more tangerines join in the dancing as it sits. Very good! The cinnamon in the aftertaste is a nice touch, and you can feel the fruits resisting the oak on your palate – quite some oak, but it balances out lovely. 😊

Just tried a glass, and the oakiness pairs so well with the fruits – it really coats those tangerines and bananas. It's a bit like dry cough syrup at first, but then guavas come through. Globally in the same ballpark, there's a sudden nosedive with white pepper, and more tangerines join in the dancing. Quite some oak here, with mushroomy and straw notes, hints of liquorice allsorts. Apples and a fruity combo are sort of winning, with a kind of smokiness that reminds me of lapsang souchong. 😊

Lovely wee dram 🥃 Soft sweetness, a bit of oak and spice, with a warm, cosy finish. Feels easy-going but still got some character. Nice for a quiet night in.

Quite cosy, this one 🥃 I get soft fruit, a bit of spice, and a gentle oaky warmth. Feels smooth, slightly sweet, with a wee dry finish. Nice for a slow evening.
