Right, so I cracked open this one last night. First thing that hits you on the nose is... grass. Cut grass, proper grassy, like mowing the lawn on a Sunday morning. Quite simple and straightforward really, nothing too fancy jumping out. Took a sip and honestly, it's a bit of a challenge. Very austere, still austere as it settles. There's this lemon curd thing lurking in the background, and then honey on buttered toast comes through if you give it time. Rather nice actually, once you get past the initial... sternness? 🤔 You do pick up some candy sugar and barley water vibes, maybe a touch of barley sugar sweetness if you're patient. But yeah, grass for sure is the main event. Very grassy indeed. Almost like chewing on branches in a field somewhere in the Highlands. Not the most characterful Highlander I've ever had, I'll be honest. Difficult in all honesty to pin down what makes it special. It's the kind of dram that's quite rare in its simplicity — doesn't try too hard, doesn't blow you away. Nice whisky, but definitely one that makes you work for it. 🥃
