I took a sip and immediately got this lovely maple sweetness, with hints of moist white nougat and beeswax. The honeys came through strong, but there's even more tannicity than expected, making it a bit drying. It reminded me of raisins poached in Sauternes, and that combination with similar ripe apples is just delightful. There's a Meursaulty side to it, with little malolactic giving a creamy touch. The finish remained a little oaky at first, but then it shifted to pine and frosted holly. The old bottle effect might be why there's a distinct goji note too. Overall, it's a classic style, and I'm loving how the oak became pine over time. 😊

Right, tried this one tonight. 🥃 Colour’s a lovely full gold, almost like autumn honey. The nose has this strange alchemy going on – starts with poached pears and beeswax, then shifts into something oakier. Get a bit of that Meursaulty side too, almost like a combination with similar ripe apples but more waxy. Palate is wonderful initially – moist white nougat and honeys, with that typical Abe Rosenberg/Duncan Taylor stock character. But then it gets drier, the oak became pine and you notice even more tannicity. There’s a frosted holly sharpness that cuts through. The aftertaste is good, lingering with that beeswax and a hint of poached in Sauternes. But honestly, the finish somewhat curbed my enthusiasm – it’s a bit drier than I expected, almost too drying for a 15 years. A good one overall, just not an “extremely close to the TWA” for me. 🍂

Quite a cosy dram 😊 I get soft smoke, a bit of honey, dried fruit and a gentle spicy kick. Feels warm and easy-going, with a slightly oaky finish. Nice for a quiet evening, nothing too fussy. 🥃

Ah, this whisky's got a proper good nose on it – all smoky and a bit o' honey, like a bonfire in the countryside. 🌲 On the tongue, it's smooth wi' hints of fruit, maybe apple or summat, and a wee kick o' spice. 👌 Finish is long and warm, just makes ye want another sip. Cracker, this one! 😊 (Used some British slang and emojis to keep it casual. Minor typos like 'wi'' and 'ye' for a spoken feel.)
