Just had a pour – that deep amber colour is lovely. Nose hits with mentholy sultanas and dates, really inviting. Tastes smooth and complex, notes of mutton suet and Parma ham that somehow work. Oak’s been mastered to perfection, no modern wood-technology here. Hints of old amontillado, figs, a bit game-y, with a tobacco strand coming through. Finish is glorious – rounder, with citrons, pears, and old cognac vibes. Stewed prunes, waxed figs, and currants linger. Very resinous, almost like manuka honeys and toasted croissants. Menthol fudges add a twist, alongside liquoricy, orange squash, and mirabelles. Leather polish and heather in the background. Feels like an old Connolly, rich and satisfying. 😊

Deep amber in the glass, proper cosy stuff 🥃 I get old tobacco, polished leather, figs and dates, with a bit of pear and orange squash sweetness. Feels smooth and long, quite menthol-y, with honey, liquorice, prunes and a wee savoury edge like miso. Old-school, warm, and lovley by the fire.

Quite a cosy dram, this. I get a bit of honey, soft oak, dried fruit and a wee spicy tingle 😊 Feels warm and mellow, with a slightly smoky, nutty finish. Easy to sip, not too fussy — proper nice on a quiet evening.

Quite cosy on the nose — bit of honey, soft oak and a wee spicy tingle 🥃 Tastes warm and rounded, with a gentle sweetness, then a dry-ish finish that lingers nicely. Easy to sit with on a chilly evening.
