Poured a cheeky dram of this tonight and holy smokes! 🥃 It’s a beautiful full gold colur in the glass. Straight away you get early grey in abundance and a proper smoked tea vibe. It really reminds me of that old official 30 only with more power. Sitting here nosing it makes me think of dusty old books and cigarettes, Camel the doctors preferred or was it Luck Strike? Taking a sip and ho and oh! It kicks off with salted water and lemons squeezed over smoked fish, maybe just a touch of olive oil in there. But then it gets surprisingly sweet with juicyfruit and fresh bananas 🍌 It's honestly like baking warm pies, a proper sweet banana pie! The fresh bourbon wood works brilliantly here. It feels like the American oak having literally absorbed any excessive smoke and ashes. What's left behind is this lovely vanilla fudge and almond milk creaminess, giving me major flashes of a young agricole rum. It finishes fairly long with a nice lingering hit of salt at the end. Just a quick tip mate, do not add too much water, it really doesn't need it at all. Bloody cracking stuff.
