Tonight's pour feels like a proper seaside ramble. First hit is massively salty, almost briney, with a huge smoke that reminds me of damp driftwood. It’s fab. 🏴 Then it opens up – there's dried lemon zests and a touch of camphor, like an old medicine chest. The Salty note comes back, but now it's with Almond oil and something vegetal, maybe seaweed or a fresh weed from a coastal cliff. The distillate itself is marvellous, I can tell. Less straight and 'evident' sharpness than some, it’s fiddling with unlikely wood maybe? Hints of raw wool, a bit of kippers... it's complex. A long finish brings spicy herbs, a definite dill note, and a tincture of iodine. The smoke lingers, huge but now woven with a faint antiseptic edge. Old yet fresh. Quality's high again with this one. Just another great one, really. Better chiselled than I expected. The fish and Salty character is massive. 🐟
