Right, so this one's got that lovely pale gold colour in the glass. First impression is a whiff of overripe apples and those tart gooseberries – very summery, that. Then there's this softer, floral thing, like acacia honey and a touch of Earl Grey tea swirling around. The taste follows through quite nicely. It's firm but not heavy, really. I get that slight oaky note from the American oak, just a tiny bit, mixing with citrus and a hint of quince and plum jam. The finish brings back a gentle liquorice wood sort of sweetness. Honestly, it just feels wonderfully put together. Floral yet firm, if that makes sense. A proper gold-medal dram for a quiet evening. 👍
