Right, poured a dram and… wow, this is not an easy baby to get to know at first. Nose is straight-up grass juice and green pepper, with a whiff of sorrel and green pears hiding behind. Feels very grassy, almost like crushing wet leaves. First sip is a real jolt. Very tart lemonness hits hard, then a wave of grapefruit and tomato. There’s a low-wine vibe in there, almost sour like a sweet beer that’s turned. A bit of rhubarb peelings and artichoke, maybe even turnips? The hogshead had a lot of work to do, you can tell. A splash of water may help, actually. Tames the greenness a bit, brings out more of that grape skins and fig note. Still very Glen Spey, if you know what I mean. The finish is rather long, and the aftertaste is rather on vanilla, which is a nice, warm surprise after all that sharpness. Like switching from an IPA to a quiet ale. Still, gold colour aside, it’s a proper challenge to drink. Not one for a casual beer night, that’s for sure. 🤔

Nose is a bit of a challenge, honestly – getting this raw, vegetal thing, like artichoke leaves and green pepper. First sip is... whew, a little hot and tart. Very grapefruit, very lemony zest. Getting some rhubarb peelings and green pear skins too. Water really helps tame it. It brings out a sweetness, like a light beer or some grape must. Still very grassy, with hints of parsnip and turnip underneath. The aftertaste sticks around, turning creamy with vanilla, and that grassy note lingers. It’s a young, wild one – not an easy sipper, but interesting.

First nose isn't easy at all. Very grassy, almost like a fresh lawn after rain, with green pepper and a bit of capsicum jumping out. Smells like a young, spirited thing. Takes a moment to open up. Get a whiff of sweet beer, maybe a bit like an IPA but with more fruit – some green pears and grapefruit peel come through. Definitely has that hogshead character working hard underneath. Palate follows the nose. Still very leafy, more green leaves and even a hint of turnips? No, not quite, maybe just a raw vegetable edge. But then there's rhubarb peelings tartness. The aftertaste is rather long and settles onto vanilla, which is a nice, soft landing after all that greenery. It’s very much a 'Glen Spey' style – a bit rustic, not an easy baby at first, but grows on you. 🌿🍺

Bit of a tricky one, honestly. Nose feels sharp and green: pear skins, lemon, grass, even a touch of green pepper. Not super cosy at first 😅 With water it calms down a bit — more grapefruit, vanilla after, and a sweet beery note. Still quite tart, leafy, and mashy. Interesting dram, but not an easy sipper.
