Whiskyspace Notes 1377

I had a dram of this whisky last evening – it's medium-bodied with fresh notes of peat, almost whispering. The seawater and brine-y character come through, likely from the cask, which gives a Jamaican rum sweetness, making it as easy as a light beer. A real blessing to sip, not a big whisky at all. I get olives and white wine on the nose, very good. No coconut, thankfully. The finish has a croissant and bread quality, a great surprise. I doubt that came from the distillate in itself – maybe the cask. There's ginger, smoky oak, Jamaican hints, and sloe. It's pure single grain, and overall, it's like a fresh loaf. 😊
