Just tried this one – quite a fascinating dram, really. First thing that hit me was this lovely lemony tartness, almost like fresh lemons with a hint of salt. Got a bit of grass and olive brine in there too, which is... intriguing, to say the least. Then there's this gentle sherry feeling, not too heavy, weaving through some subtle peat smoke – sort of reminds me of Ardmore's lighter side. A touch medicinal, maybe? But in a good, old-school way. And honestly, it’s got that sort of depth you’d expect from something around 30 yo. Slightly chalky finish. Can’t help but think it feels quite special, a real treat – even if the price tag on these bottles is, well, eye-watering. 😅 Very good stuff, though. Really enjoyed it.

Blimey, this one's got that chalky, almost coastal vibe right away. There's something medicinal lurking in there - reminds me of those old Brora bottlings everyone goes mad for. The ex-Laphroaig cask influence is dead obvious, that peaty coastal character sneaking through. At 30 yo you'd expect it to be mellowing out but nope, there's still a lovely lemony tartness cutting through. Candlewax and ointments come through on the nose, weirdly nostalgic. The palate's got this weissbeer fizziness mixed with raisins and a touch of salt. Honestly very good - the kind of dram that makes you see why folk pay ridiculously expensive OBs prices for certain bottles. Really intriguing Braes/Braeval character, that's for sure. Could sit with this one all evening if I'm honest 😊

Lovely warm dram 🥃 I get honey, malt and a bit of dried fruit, then some gentle spice and oak. Feels cosy, slightly smoky, with a sweet finish that hangs about nicely. Really easy to sit with on a chilly evening.

Right then, let’s have a proper natter about this one. Nose is all stewed apples and a good whack of vanilla. Touch of honey’d nuts too. 🍯 On the palate it’s smoooooth, more of that toffee sweetness, bit o’ dried fruit – sultanas maybe? A right biscuity backbone holds it all together. 🍪 Finish brings a gentle oak spice, not a burn, just a warm tingle. A wee whisper of smoke at the very end. 🥃 Lovely drop to sit with, no messin’. Proper cosy dram.
