Got a lovely oak feel to this one—properly malty, bit of nutmeg tickling about. Then there’s a lemony lift, almost like you’ve squeezed a tiny wedge into your oak juice. It really is very good whisky. Makes me think of warm scones spread with white chocolate, all oaky vanilla melting into Walker’s oatcakes. You can taste that USA oak, deep and sweet, then it draws out this creamy, straw-like softness. The cask’s been active, but everything stays natural, neutral somehow. Long finish that just lingers. Smashing stuff. 🥃

Warm and malty, with a wee bit of spice and dried fruit. Feels cosy, smooth-ish, and a touch woody at the end 🥃 Quite a nice slow sipper, especailly on a chilly evening.

Nose is all honey’d orchard fruits 🍏🍐, a wee whisp of heathery smoke behind. Palate’s smoothe, like stewed apple and caramal, a nudge of cinnamon bark. Finish sits warm, medium-long, with a gentle spice that lingers lovely-like. A proper dram for a fireside evening. 🔥🥃
