Blimey, this one’s a bit of a beast. Smells like someone’s overcooked a game pie, proper gamey notes lifting off the glass, all mixed with this sticky hardwood resins vibe. It’s heavy stuff from the off, almost chewy. The sherry influence is mad, but not in that cloying modern way – more like the profile of sherry that doesn’t really exist in whisky anymore. Very heavy sherry, but somehow kept savoury. I’m getting date loaf smothered in miso paste, a whack of aniseed, and a slick of walnut oil. Then it takes a turn into bitter dark chocolate dipped in salted liquorice. So much umami. Honestly, it’s like a spoonful of slightly herbal cough syrup laden with preserved dark fruits, those soft dark fruit aspects buried under ink and leather, though they’re not dominating. Mid-palate it calms into this umami vibes territory, really savoury, before the finish – medium length – leaves you with a memory of black coffee sweetened with natural tar liqueur. Mad dram 😮‍💨

Lovely cosy dram 🥃 I get soft vanilla, a bit of honey, dried fruit and gentle oak. There’s a wee touch of spice and smoke, but nothing too shouty. Feels warm, smooth-ish, and quite comforting on a chilly evening. Nice lingering sweetness at the end.

Quite warm and cosy, with a bit of honey, oak and spice. Feels mellow but lively, like a wee dram by the fire 🥃 Finish is soft, slightly sweet, and a touch smoky.

Lovely wee dram 🥃 Feels warm and cosy, with a bit of pear, honey, soft spice and oak. A touch of smoke in the back, but not too much. Nice and easy to sip on a chilly evening.
