Right, let’s get this down while it’s still fresh.
first proper nosing and I’m gettin’ a right waft of stewed orchard fruits, like apples and pears caramelised in butter 🍎🍐. There’s a shy puff of peat smoke too, not a bonfire, more like a damp tweed jacket after a walk in the Highlands.
sipping neat now… ooft, that’s a wee bit of a spice tingle at the tip of me tongue, cracked black pepper and maybe some crystalised ginger? Then it sort of rolls into this lovely malty middle, kinda biscuity, like digestives dunked in earl grey cuppa ☕️
the finish is where it sings mind. medium long, very warming, a cheeky hint of dark choclate and a drift of woodsmoke that just lingers. not sharp at all, quite smoothe in the end.
overall, it’s like a comfy armchair by the fire but in a glass. A proper autumnal sipper, that. 🥃✨
hits different with a splash of water too btw — opens up more of that honeyed nuttiness. absolute belter for a quiet night in.
