Couldn't sleep at 4:30am, poured a nightcap. First sip – smoky porridge and soot, like a cozy fireplace with bitter herbs. But it's unexpectedly civilised; smooth and refined. A drop of honey sweetness, with vanilla and bakery notes drifting in. Added a bit of water, and it turned softer and fruitier – papayas, guavas, maybe a hint of bananas. There's an earthy note like mashed celeriac, a touch of ink. Wet newspaper and metal polish linger, but charcoal rounds it off. Very nice. 🥃
