Just had a dram that was... an experience, to say the least. Looked full gold in the glass, and the smell hit me right away – like standing downwind of something burning manure, mixed with rubber bands and a strong lapsang souchong tea. Honestly, the medicinal side was the first thing to jump out, and it got even louder after a while. Sipping it was something else. Incredibly thick texture, almost chewy. The taste is very different from most things I’ve tried. There’s a heavy salt and smoky aftertaste that just sticks around, endless really. Also got this peculiar overripe greengages note and a touch of chalk. Some say this Old-Ardgeggian profile beats old Laphroaig, and I can see why – it’s spectacular in its own way. 🤔 The finish keeps going, with that salmiak galore and the medicinal note not fading one bit. A bit of eucalyptus might be in there too. Very strong, very bold. After a glass, you’re left thinking about exhaust fumes and something almost earthy. Extraordinary stuff. Very impressive. 👍

Oh wow, this one’s a proper journey. Nose is instantly… medicinal, like band-aids and peat smoke, but then there’s this surprising whiff of fresh milk and lapsang souchong tea? It’s complex. Palate is strong and incredibly thick. The smokiness is upfront, almost like burning manure or exhaust fumes – wild, but I’m into it. There’s a salty, chalky mineral note underneath. The colour is a rich full gold. The aftertaste is the real star. The medicinal side just gets louder and louder, with a bit of rubber band. It’s like it’s daring you. Incredibly strong, incredibly Old-Ardgeggian. For me, that’s just my kind of medicine. 🤯 The whole experience was honestly spectactular.

Deep gold in the glass ✨ Big smoky hit, like lapsang tea and a damp farmyard fire. Proper strong stuff — chalky, salty, very medicinal, with a fresh milky softness underneath. The finish just goes on and on… smoky, briny, endless. Quite extraordinary.

Quite cosy on the nose — a bit of honey, oak and soft spice. Sip feels warm and smooth, with a wee touch of dried fruit and vanilla 😊 Finish is gentle, slightly smoky, and lingers nicely. Easy to enjoy after dinner.

Quite cosy on the nose — a bit of dried fruit, oak and warm spice. Tastes smooth, slightly sweet, with a gentle smoky edge. Nice little winter dram 🥃✨
