Light gold in the glass, rather thick. First nosing... zests! Like grapefruit juice left on the seaside counter. Then comes the deep stuff: smoke, yes, but also smoked eel, that brine and seaweed hit. It’s a full coastal territory, no doubt. On the tongue, it doesn’t go down easy at first. Very bold. I’m getting flashes of lapsang souchong, roasted tea, even a hint of cough lozenges and ointments in a weirdly nice way. There’s a Fanta-like sweetness trying to peek through, maybe passion fruit. A couple of sips in... twenty-four oysters. Smoked salmon. Smoked sesame. It’s a tad unusual. It’s like a working kiln by the sea. The finish is long, with squashes and bitter oranges at the very end. Needs a little work, though. Two drops of water should stabilize it. Wow, yes. Bingo. 🤙

just poured a dram of this one, and it's like a walk by the coast – brine, seawater, and fresh kelp hit straight away. then smoke and tar come through, almost like a working kiln nearby, with a hint of creosote. mouthfeel? rather thick, coating your tongue for a long time. but there's a burst of grapefruit juice and superb citrus jams, even mangos and passion fruit. a tad unusual with cough lozenges and ointments lurking in there. it does not go down easy, needs a little work I think. two drops of water should stabilize it, smoothing things out. makes me think of smoked eel and smoked fish, with a touch of roasted tea. and if you've ever had oysters – like twenty-four of them – it's that kind of seafood vibe. bingo when it all comes together! 👍 overall, excellent but totally normal? not quite, more like a wild ride. 🥃

Light gold in the glass. Proper coastal stuff 🌊 Seaweed, brine, smoked fish, tarry smoke, then a hit of mango and bitter orange. Feels thick and a bit chewy, with citrus peel, roasted tea and cough-sweet vibes. Needs a wee splash of water and a bit of time, but then it settles nicely. Long, smoky, salty finish. Not an easy sipper, but quite a ride. 🥃

Quite cosy on the nose — bit of honey, oak and a wee touch of smoke 🥃 Tastes warm and mellow, with some dried fruit, spice, and a soft sweet finish. Proper easy to sip on a quiet evening.
