Just had a sip of this whisky, and crikey, it's a complex one. The aroma hits with ammonia and acetone right away – kinda like model glue or new plywood. Then tons of bananas flood in, mixed with olives and a heavy turmeric warmth. There's a tad bitter edge, maybe from lime juice, and a non-peat base that lets other notes shine. The finish has varnish and tar, sinking to the bottom like it's gold. Feels like it was crafted with much care, though – somewhat better balanced than I'd expected, extremely close to that of #528. All in all, it's extreme but all good in a wild way. 😅

Right, had a dram of this one last night. 😊 First off, the colour was full gold, really nice. Tasting it, I got a bit of that herbal note, like fresh herbs you know? And there’s a little smokiness, just a hint. The texture was thicker, almost oily, and it reminded me a bit of a good beer – not the same, but similar vibe. Some tiny touches of meats came through, which was interesting, and I caught a whiff of menthol tobacco, kind of refreshing. The fermenting fruits made it feel a bit riper, and it wasn’t as bright and immediate as some others, more philosophical if you will. Definitely an obvious asset in the flavour profile. 🤔

Quite thick and oily on the palate, with ripe pear, menthol tobacco and a wee herbal edge 🌿 Feels a bit less bright than expected, more deep and greasy, with camphor and light smoke hanging about. A splash of water really wakes it up. Long finish, slightly varnishy, minty, and warming. Quite a moody dram tbh 🥃

Bit of a weird coastal dram, this one 🌊 Short sniff at first: salty olives, vinegar, overripe banana, a wee funky rum note. Tastes gentler than the nose suggests — savoury, briny, a bit dirty in a good way, with that fermenty banana wine thing going on. Not exactly cosy, but oddly moreish. Like a seaside chip shop next to a paint shed 😅

Bit of a wild one 😅 Loads of banana at first, then acetone, glue and new plywood vibes. Feels dry, sharp and pretty full-on, with lime, olives and a bitter tonic edge. The finish is long, tarry and a wee bit rough, but it settles better than expected. Not cosy, more of a strange, punchy dram.
