Whiskyspace Notes 1517

Right, poured myself a dram. First thing that hits is this incredible oiliness on the tongue, just coats everything. It's like... sunflower oil but richer, almost waxy like beeswax. There's a sharpness, a real acidic kick that cuts through, but in a rather unexpected way. Then you get this graphite pencil lead thing, mixed with sesame paste? Odd, but it works. The aftertaste is long, turns slightly green and herbal. Somewhere in there, I'm getting a fleeting image of autumn rain soaking barley fields. 🍂 A proper citrus note pops out too, like lemon zest on the gold of the liquid itself. It's got a sublime profile, this balance. The bitterness anchors it, stops it flying off. Honestly, feels like a frenzied tango between the oils and that acidic tension. What a beauty. Only thing... there's a soapy note that creeps in, just faint. Shaves off 2 points for me personally. Still, an artist's bottling through and through. 🍯
