Blimey, this one's a bit of a wild ride. First whiff is all ginger and something a bit like Turkish raki, that aniseed thing. Then there's this savory, almost miso-like thing going on underneath, with a coating of beeswax. Damn fine whisky, though. It's a long finish, really warming, with that ginger coming back as a ginger liqueur. Getting some hay and white pepper spice, and oddly, a hint of biofuel? Like fresh-cut grass but more... industrial. More marmalade-y waxes come out as it sits, making it feel like a lighter kind of Clynelish. The colour's a lovely full gold. There's a bit of a clash between the dry sherry influence and that Turkish spice, but it mostly works. None of the usual Clynelish markers managed to get their heads above water here. It's spicy for sure, and the aftertaste somehow reminds me of the steam off a bamboo basket of steamed Chinese dumplings. 🤔 A proper conversation-starter, this one.

Wow, this one's got a real full gold colour, like old honey. Nosing it, I get a surprising hit of something savoury, almost like steamed Chinese dumplings, then some dry sherry nuttiness, walnuts maybe. There's a touch of beeswax and a bit of hay, a bit farmyard-y. It's kinda like a lighter, more approachable Clynelish. On the palate, that biofuel note comes through, but it's not harsh. More like a clean spirit. Then miso and a bit of Turkish raki, that aniseed thing. It's a bit of a clash at first, but interesting. White pepper heat builds, and there's ginger, almost like ginger liqueur. The finish has these more marmalade-y waxes and a lingering cigar box. Quite the Turkish bath of a dram, you know?

Right, so I tried this whisky last night. The color is a lovely full gold. On the nose, I get dry sherry and beeswax. First sip: oh, ginger and walnuts come through, with a hint of soy sauce that's interesting. It's like a lighter kind of Clynelish, but damn fine whisky. The finish has more marmalade-y waxes, reminds me of steamed Chinese dumplings for some reason. There's a bit of a clash with ginger liqueur notes, but overall very good – enjoyed it with a cigar later. 😋

Poured a dram that caught the light like full gold, and the first thing that hit me was this lovely ginger liqueur warmth. Properly very good, that. As it sat, it got more marmalade-y, you know? Like waxy peel from a Seville orange, with a finish that just goes on and on - long and satisfying. Oddly, it reminded me of the steamy hit when you open a bamboo basket of steamed Chinese dumplings, but then it turned into this dry sherry note, almost Turkish delight-like. I got a whiff of fresh hay, then some ginger spice kicked in. There was this funky savoury thing, like miso or a dash of good soy sauce, but it was balanced with a spicy edge and the richness of walnuts. It's not a heavyweight - more like a lighter kind of Clynelish, if that makes sense. A touch of Turkish raki anise crept in, and the finish had this interesting hint of... biofuel? Not in a bad way! Damn fine whisky, really. The beeswax note is there, and I could almost imagine pairing it with a good cigar. Finished with a flick of white pepper. 😄
