First thing I get is this lovely golden colour in the glass, quite inviting. Nose-wise, it's like a jar of orange marmalade on the table, with just a little coffee in the background. There's some buttery oak too, and something almost like plasticine-y, but in a weirdly nice way. When you have a sip, it's quite characterful. You get that orange-y note again, maybe some orange peelings. There's a vanilla sweetness balancing it. Then there's this distinct side to it – a little tarry, almost rubbery, like new rubber or something. Reminds me a bit of tarry sand on a beach. The finish is where it gets really interesting. A clear asset is that smoky aftertaste, but it's blended with something like green tea mixed with smoked tea. There's a hint of liquorice wood and gunpowder tea right at the end. It’s naturally rubbery but in a charming way. Quite a memorable dram. 👍

Got a really interesting one here. First whiff is... oddly comforting, like a mix of natural rubber and a wee tarry side. Gets a bit plasticine-y after a while, with some liquorice wood in the background. Smoky, for sure, but it's that dry tarry sand kind of smoke. Then there's this lovely Seville orange note that pops out, almost like green tea blended with smoked tea. A real orange-y character. On the palate, finds a little coffee there, and definitely that orange marmalade sweetness. Makes you think of broken branches on a damp path, somehow. Reminds me of a Springbank but with its own lovely characterful Glen Garioch vibe, if that makes sense? Finishes with a touch of linseed oil. Very good, overall. Really warming. 😊

Poured myself a dram – it's that lovely gold colour. 😊 Nose gives off vanilla and Seville oranges, very inviting. First sip, there's a cracked pepper note, medium body with a plasticine-y, naturally rubbery feel. Tastes of orange marmalade, like green tea blended with smoked tea, with a little coffee and linseed oil. The smoky aftertaste is great, hints of liquorice wood, tarry sand, and gunpowder tea. A clear asset to any collection, really very good!

Right, here goes… just poured a dram and having a quiet moment with it. Nose is immediately cracked pepper and this lovely characterful dram, sort of tarry sand and broken branches after a storm. Tiny whiff of linseed oil, and something oddly plasticine-y from childhood, but it works. A little coffee bean peeking through, then orange-y notes like Seville oranges muddled with a splash of orange liqueur. On the sip, it’s medium weight, vanilla and green tea blended with smoked tea – almost gunpowder tea smokiness. That liquorice wood backbone is a clear asset, dry and gently spicy. Finish clings with a smoky aftertaste, earthy, like cold campfire embers and a faint zest of those oranges again. Very good indeed. 👌🥃🍊
