Popped this open expecting a gentle cinnamon cake sort of moment, and on the nose it’s… pretty shy. Softly spicy if I really dig in, maybe a whisper of caramel and vanillin, but then it just goes full carpenter’s workshop. Massive amounts of fresh sawdust, fir cones, sucking on a plank. It’s extremely plankish. Sweet oak 10 – distillate 0. The grain character was almost silent, which left me with this golden liquid that tastes like someone steeped cinnamon sticks and corn syrup in a bucket of new oak shavings. Bit of a one-note yada yada yada after the first sip. Short finish, weak in a way that puzzles me because it’s actually quite good at being an oaky style easy sipper, if that’s your thing. Ends like licking a sawdust-covered cinnamon cake. Not bad, just… huge amounts of oak and not much else. 😅

Sounds like a proper cosy dram this one. 🥃 Nose is all seaside bonfire & a wee whiff of TCP, in the best way. Then that first, err, approach… such a silky oily feel, with baked apples, dark toffee, and a sneaky hint of caramell. The peat builds slow, not a punch, more like a bear hug. Finish is just smashing—woodsmoke, a little black pepper, and a salty lick that goes on for ages. 🔥🍎🌊 Got me talkin’ to the glass, innit. Cheerd, mate! 👍

Smells a bit sweet and cosy, like honey, oak and a touch of spice 🥃 Tastes warm, smooth-ish, with some dried fruit and vanilla. Finish is gentle, wee bit smoky. Nice relaxed dram.

Right then, nosing this one gives me honey’d heather and just a whisper of bonfire embers. 🔥 On the tongue it’s surprisingly silky—ripe pear, apple crumble, a proper dollop of vanilla custard. 🍐🍎 Finish lingers with a wee spicy tingle, clove and a hint of cinnamon. Bit of an oily mouthfeel too, coats nicely. Cosy dram, that. 🥃
