Right, so I poured myself a wee dram last night and honestly, it was pure magic. First thing that hit me was this stunning explosion of fruits and spices — apricots and plums just dancing around. Then there's this subtle crème de menthe vibe, like mint liqueur but not quite. Lovely stuff. The colour was full gold, beautiful in the glass really. Superb whiffs of dandelions came through too, which sounds odd but trust me, it works. The honeys were there as well, just gently sweetening things up. As it opened up, oak comes out a little more — some might say too oaky but I'd say just a wee tad less oaky than you'd expect for something this cerebral. There's a bit of white pepper kicking about too, keeps things interesting. The aftertaste? Sweet oak that lingers nicely, gone for good after a minute or two sadly, yes. Less sherry influence than I thought there'd be, more of a less expressive version of what I expected but still amazing. Too expensive though, isn't it? Like most of these irresistible 1972 Caperdonichs type drams. But honestly the anti-maltoporn brigade can say what they like — when it's this good, I don't care 😄 Gorgeous stuff, would definitely have again if my wallet allows!

Right, so poured this one last night – lovely full gold colour in the glass. First whiff? Superb, honestly. Like walking past a garden after rain – got those dandelion notes and then this lovely honeysuckle sweetness. There's a touch of white pepper that sneaks up, just a wee bit. Palate-wise, it's pure magic. That subtle mint liqueur thing is there, kind of like crème de menthe but way more elegant. The oak is just right – not too oaky, maybe even a wee tad less oaky than I expected, which actually works brilliantly. Goes down smooth and leaves this cerebral, warming finish. Honestly amazing stuff. Heard these old bottlings are gone for good now and getting too expensive for the anti-maltoporn brigade 😅 But if you ever spot an irresistible one from '72... just get it. Worth every penny.

Alright, so I poured a dram tonight. The colour is full gold, just pure magic in the glass. Superb whiffs of dandelions hit me first, with plums and apricots underneath. A touch of honeys sweetness, really subtle. On the sip, it's an explosion of fruits and spices – stunning! White pepper kicks in. But oak comes out a little more, maybe a wee tad less oaky would be better. There's this crème de menthe note, like mint liqueur, making it cerebral. The aftertaste has sweet oak, brilliant. Sadly, the best bits are gone for good. And it was too expensive, but oh man, what an amazing experience. Definitely a less expressive version, but still irresisitible. 😊

Ah, this one’s quite subtle at first — got these lovely dried apricots notes 🍑 and a gentle white pepper kick. Not too heavy on the sherry, which I kinda prefer sometimes. Then wow, that 1972 Caperdonichs character just blooms… absolutely irresistible. It’s like an explosion of fruits and spices in your mouth, honestly stunning. Gone for good already? Sadly, yes 😅. But I’m left with this mint liqueur vibe, almost like a wee dram of crème de menthe. Cerebral stuff — makes you think. The oak comes out a little more as it sits, plums peeking through too. A little more oak than I expected, but in a good way… maybe a wee tad less oaky next time would be perfect 🥃😊

Warm and cosy, with a bit of honey, oak and spice. Feels smooth enough, then a wee dry kick at the end 🥃 Nice fireside sort of dram.
