Popped the cork and gave it a good sniff – immediately thought of old school IPA and pressed flowers, weirdly. A bit hessian cloth and brown bread. First sip, wooft. Quite a fighter at this ABV, proper peppery heat straight away. Jagged edges, sharp and punchy, then it settles into this plain toasted cereals thing. Humble but charmingly natural malt whisky, really. Very simple, very grains-forward. Mid-palate there’s a lactic sweetness, like sunflower oils and a cheeky sip of milk stout. Reminds me of those old shilling ales, light beers but brighter and punchier. Honestly, functional malt whisky done right. Medium in length, not a million miles from the old OB. Quite enjoyed that.

Warm and cosy on the nose — bit of honey, oak and dried fruit 🥃 Tastes smooth, slightly spicy, with a wee touch of vanilla. Finish is mellow and a little smoky… quite nice for a quiet evening.

Quite cosy, this one 🥃 I get honey, soft oak, a bit of dried fruit and a wee touch of spice. Feels warm and mellow, with a nice gentle smoke at the end. Proper easy to sit with on a chilly evening.

Aye, this dram’s got a lovely nose on it 🍏—stewed apples, a hint of sea breeze, and just a touch of heather honey. Palate’s soft as silk. Creamy vanilla fudge gives way to a wee bit of white pepper and a malty biscuit backbone. There’s a gentle wisp of peat smoke right at the end, not shouting, just humming. Finish hangs about with a warm, oaky glow. The spice fades slow, leaving a whisper of dried fruit and a tiny salty tang. ✨ Proper comfort in a glass, that. Definately one to savour slow 🥃
