Honestly, the colour’s a beautiful bronze amber in the glass. Nose: you get that moderate smokiness first, but then it’s like sticking your head into an old car engine – all oily rags and warm metal. Mind you, it’s not your usual Brora at all. More like… pu-erh tea leaves left in the pot, a bit sooty, then suddenly, oranges and bacon? More bacon than anything, very bacony, with salt and a touch of prune. Almost no primary or secondary notes, really; it jumps straight to the weird stuff. The mouth feel’s perfect, just right at 46%. Oak’s perhaps a little more noticeable now, and there’s an avalanche of greases and waxes, like Bakelite and old chartreuse. Chocolate dominates after a while – very chocolaty. Honestly, it’s got that tertiary thing going on, probably sherry casks. Then, the largest collection of mushrooms ever decides to show up in the finish. Bit scared at first, it’s so different. But smoked meat, more chocolate, a flash of orange peel… absolutely terrific. Leaves you flying high. Not sure what to make of it, but it’s perfect. 🥃

Alright, just poured a glass of this. First thing I get is this unexpected wave of engine oil and sooty tar, which is... whaaat? But in a good way, honestly. It’s not your usual smoke bomb at all. The smokiness is actually very moderate, more like smoked bacon and ham coming through. Then it opens up into this massive, earthy thing – like the largest collection of mushrooms ever, plus some old leather and tobacco. 🍄 Finds of pu-erh tea and dark chocolate pop in, with these lovely touches of prunes and oranges. Maybe it was refill casks? There’s an avalanche of greases and waxes in the mouth feel, which is perfect. A bit of salt and smoked meat. The finish is quite long, with more oranges and bacon, and maybe a hint of old Bakelite or rubber from a classic car engine. It’s flying high, just so incredibly complex – all tertiary notes, no primary or secondary stuff here. Absolutely terrific. 46% vol.’s never been a bad strength, either. Cheers! 🥃

Just had a dram that's completely doing my head in 😂 Started off with this weird old chartreuse vibe, like some kind of antique herbal mix, and then whoosh—suddenly I'm flying high on a wave of... is that really the biggest hit of mushrooms I've ever tasted? Wild. The smoke's there but chill, just moderate, and underneath, oh boy, the oak's maybe a tad more forward than I'm used to. Getting proper smoked meat now, flashes of those stunning 1972s I keep dreaming about. The mouthfeel is just chef's kiss, perfect. Then this bizarre note pops up—Bakelite? Like old telephone casing. Weirdly charming. Makes me think, perhaps it's a refill cask? No idea. Layers keep coming: a slick of engine oil (in a good way!), rich chocolate, a wisp of tobacco, and a surprising salt edge at the end. Definitely not your usual Brora expression. More oranges and bacon?! Seriously, what even is this? I'm a bit scared by how good and confusing it is. Whaaat?! 🤯</think>Just poured one and wow, it's like old chartreuse got me flying high straight away. Then there's this massive mushroom note—biggest collection I've ever tasted in a whisky! Moderate smokiness hangs in the background, and the oak's perhaps a little more noticeable than usual. Getting smoked meat now, reminds me of those stunning 1972s... Perfect mouth feel, so oily. There's a weird Bakelite edge—maybe it's from a refill cask? Also engine oil, but in a cool way. Very chocolaty with tobacco and salt. Definitely not your usual Brora. More oranges and bacon lately... a bit scared of how complex it is. Whaaat? 😅

刚刚倒了一杯,首先闻到的是…有点烟熏肉和烟草,混着一点橙子皮的感觉。whaaat?

Ooh this is a proper nice dram! 😊 First sip and wow, getting loads of vanilla and honey... bit of smokiness coming through too. Very smooth going down 👌 Deffo picking up some toffee notes, maybe a hint of dark chocolate? Rich and warming, just what you need on a cold evening 🥃 Finish is lovely and long, little bit of spice at the end. Some nice fruit flavours in there too - apple maybe? Really balanced whisky this one, not too peaty but got enough depth to keep you interested. Would 100% have another glass 😄
