Right, let’s have a wee sniff then… 🥃
Nose is all toffee and stewed orchard fruets, like baked apples with a dustin’ of cinnamon. A bit of bonfire smokiness too, but not overpowerin’—more like a damp campfire the mornin’ after. 🔥
On the palate it’s surprisingly oily, coats the tongue proper. Honeyed at first, then comes a wave of cracked black pepper and a salty, almost seaweed tang? Oddly moreish. A touch of dark chocolate bitterness right at the back.
Finish is warm and lingers, definately oak-led but with a whisper of dried apricots and maybe a smidge of ginger jam. Cracking dram, that. 😌
