The Balvenie Single Cask 1989 15 Years Single Malt Whisky

Loads of vanilla and caramel at first, but not too sweet. Feels a bit grassy and herbal, with dill, straw and a wee farmy edge 🌾 There’s a strange mix of hot milk, liquorice and a touch of white rum. Quite dry, resinous, and a little nervy. Finish hangs around nicely, but it’s not the roundest dram.

Quite cosy on the nose — a bit of honey, oak and soft spice. Feels warm and smooth, with a wee kick of pepper and dried fruit 🥃 Nice slow finish, kind of toasty and comforting.

Smoky an' rich, with a smooth finish. Hints of caramel an' spice. Really enjoyable on a cold evening. 🥃😊

Ooh that first sip... lovely warmth spreading right through 😌 Getting a bit of smoke, not too heavy though, more like a bonfire in the distance 🏕️ Then comes this sweet thing... maybe toffee? Aye, and a touch of vanilla 🍮 Hints of orange peel floating about, quite fresh actually 🍊 Finish is nice and long, left with a gentle oakiness in the mouth 🌳 Proper cozy dram this, perfect for a rainy afternoon innit 🌧️
