Had a wee dram last night that was just lovely. Much fruitier than I remember – apples at first, then a note straddling gin and soap, but in a way that works? 🌿 There’s this rather improbable red wine thing drifting through, mixed with wet clay and cut grass. Lemons zip about, and it’s got a light white wine vibe, less ‘dirty’ than some coastal malts. A smoky edge, just a touch of beer, and crushed shells on the nose. Some overly sulphured old sherry casks must’ve been involved because I get a faint whiff of mashed swede – weird but it hangs together. The whole thing is focused on apples, but with this whisper of something magical, like those Campbeltown whiskies folk go on about, though I won’t name names. Plenty of ashes and a fairly long finish that clings with salty, sooty fruit. Cracking stuff. 🥃

Tried a wee dram of something rather unusual last night, quite pale in the glass, like a very light hay. Smells almost like a new make spirit, freshly milled cereals and this faint crushed grass note, a bit chaotic honestly 😅 There's a slightly lactic, tangy edge that reminds me of agave distillate somehow, with a curious mineral oil and clay feel. The texture's medium, rather soft really, and there’s this charming waxy combination going on, a bit mechanical but fun. It's miles away from what you'd expect from that part of Campbeltown nowadays, much softer and nakedly distillate-forward. Fun wee glimpse into a slightly unlikely era, really.

Lovely warm dram 🥃 Bit of honey, soft oak, wee touch of spice and smoke. Feels smooth, cosy, and easy to sip after dinner. Quite moreish, tbh.

Warm and mellow, with a bit of honey, oak and gentle spice. Feels cosy on a chilly evening 🥃 A wee touch of smoke too, but not too much. Nice and easy to sip.

Ah, this whisky's got a right lovely nose, innit? 🍂 Smoky but with hints of fruity sweetness, maybe some vanilla or honey. On the palate, it's smooth as you like, with a bit of spice kickin' in at the end. Really warms you up! 🥃😊
