Had a wee dram of this and blimey, it’s a whole moody café in a glass. Straight off there’s a big whack of espresso and burnt chocolate cake, almost like a forgotten tray at the back of the oven. Then it gets properly weird and lovely — pipe tobacco, lapsang souchong smokiness, and this salty Bovril thing that shouldn’t work but absolutely does. Mid-palate things go all herbal and boozy. I’m getting Kräuterlikör, a faint ghost of Kümmel, even a cheeky Kaffee-Schnaps warmth. There’s truffle lurking underneath too, earthy and a bit posh. Walnut stain bitterness and roasted chestnuts keep it grounded… then cracked pepper ping. Finish just sits there — more leather than an old armchair, and huge walnuts in the aftertaste. Properly chocolaty right at the death. Weirdly brilliant, like sipping a liquid cigar while someone peels truffles nearby. 🥃

Warm and cosy dram 🥃 I get soft honey, a bit of baked apple, gentle oak and a wee peppery tingle. Finish feels smooth, slightly sweet, with a nice dry spice hanging about. Quite easy to sip on a chilly evening.

Warm and a bit smoky, with honey, oak and a wee touch of dried fruit. Feels cosy, slightly spicy, and lingers nicely 🔥🥃 Pretty easy to sip on a quiet evening.

Right, here we go… 🥃 Nose on this one’s like a warm slice of fruit cake left out in a wood shed. Bit of dried apple, maybe some sultana, and a whiff of old leather. Quite cosy, really. Sip it slow… ooft, that’s got a wee prickle of spice up front 🌶️ — gentle though, not shouting. Then it goes all soft and oily, like honey on brown toast. There’s a nutty thing happening, walnuts or somethin, and a faint whisper of smoke at the back. Not a bonfire, more like a candle just snuffed out. Finish is surprisinly clean. Leaves a warm, peppery tingle on the tongue and a memory of orchard fruits. 🍎 Makes me wanna slouch in a chair and just breathe for a bit. Sound.

Blimey, this whisky's a proper journey, innit? First sip, you get that smoky peatiness – like a bonfire on a moor. 🌿 Then, some fruity sweetness pops up, apples and a bit of citrus zing. There's a spicy kick too, reminds me of cinnamon or black pepper. 😅 Finishes smooth with vanilla notes that linger. Quite moreish, that! 🥃
