Right, so this is a bit mad but I’m absolutely loving it. Nose hits you with damp hay and this proper farmyard whiff, almost like dried guano – weirdly inviting though. Then underneath there’s smoked pear and a dusty, mineral thing, like licking a basalt pebble or old copper pennies. On the tongue it’s bitterish at first, loads of peppery peat and bonfire ash, but then all these lemons come through – lemon drops, limoncello, even a white winey tang. Gets proper tropical with passion fruit, and there’s a herbal sorrel sharpness that cuts through. The smoke’s more like a garden bonfire than a medicinal one, slightly mezcaly in a daft but brilliant way. Finish is rather long – moist garden peat, more of that bitter-sweet lemon, and a soft pepperiness that just sits there. It’s certainly unusual, completely different to anything I’ve tried, but somehow the balance is perfect. Bonkers but properly lovely. 🔥🍋
