Proper seaside dram, this. Right off the bat it’s full of salty liquorice and this lovely waft of lemon oils, but maybe just ever so slightly simple. Then you get that oily hit – full of smoked olive oil, proper iodine and tarry rope, ashy, with a deeper and drier peat smoke flavour that’s all anchovy butter. 🫒🔥 It’s a bit lacking a little complexity if I’m honest, but the finish is long and briny. Texture’s oilier and thicker, with a kick of white pepper and touches of fish sauce. Coal smoke, dried seaweed, nori… almost pickled mussels in there. There’s a sense of roots and medicines – kelp, touches of gentian – feels pretty emblematic of this era. Lots of seawater, pickling juices, straw, and those smoked olive oils just linger. 🌊🧂

Right, here's me giving this a go. 👃 First sniff is like opening a tin of mixed peel and sticky dates, right in me face. Not subtle at all. Then there's a proper waft of bonfire smoke, but the sweet, almost burnt toffee kind, not an ashtray. Taste? Oh blimey. 🍯 Honey'd nuts straight off, then that oily, thick dried fruit again—figs, maybe a bit of sultana. The smoke wraps round your tongue like a wooly blanket. Chewy oak right at the back, and a tiny prickle of black pepper. Finish is long and warm, leaves your mouth feeling like you've just eaten a spoonful of spiced marmalade next to a dying campfire.🔥 Dead simple, that. A big, cosy dram for a rainy Tuesday. No faff.

Warm, a bit sweet, and nicely smoky 🥃 Feels like honey, oak, and a wee hint of spice. Easy to sip, cosy on a chilly evening.

Hmm, cannae really make out these notes, mate. 😅 But if I'm honestin' from a proper session... First off, there's that deep, earthy thing, innit? Like damp soil after rain 🌿🌿 Then it gets all sweet, not like sugar, more like... warm honey on toast? 🍯🍯 Aye, there's a bit of smoke in there too, but gentle like, not a bonfire. Finishes long, a bit spicy maybe? Leaves you proper sippin' for more. Cheers to that, then! 🥃✨

Just tried this whisky, oh my... 😊 First sip is like... woah, sweet vanilla and a bit of honey? Then comes this warm, spicy kick 🔥 Feels like sitting by a fireplace. There's a fruity note in there too, maybe apple? And a hint of something smoky, very subtle. Finish is long and warm, a little peppery. Really enjoy it, very cozy dram. 👍
