Right, so poured myself a dram after dinner. First thing I get is this lovely whiff of preserved peaches and a bit of peach jam – almost like a Danish pastry fresh from the oven. On the palate, it's got a slightly creamier version of that classic barley and fudge note. The vanilla is kept at bay, thankfully, letting the fruitiness shine. There’s a touch of earth, some straw and hay, like walking past a field. It’s very much in its full-flown youth, I think. The creamy barleyness carries through, with hints of apples and preserved pears popping up. There’s even a discreet feintiness in there, which I quite like. Finishes with a medium length, leaving you with that perfect pastry-like flavour. You know, those little whiffs of porridge you sometimes get? It’s there too. A real cosy sort of dram. 🙂
