First sip takes me straight to a sun-warmed beach. Light gold in the glass, and honestly, it smells like an improved piña colada. Coconut jumps right out, with mango and papaya behind it, and a lovely salty touch that makes me think of seaweed and oysters. It’s not only about fruit, though. There’s this damp earth and bark thing in the background, a real complexity. On the palate, it’s full of more tropical fruits, tangerines and guava especially, but balanced with a dry, fruity quality, almost like a chenin blanc. There’s an adorable wee saltiness that lingers. It feels just perfect, a bit fatter than expected, with a long finish that keeps evolving. Really leaves a mark. 🤙

Tonight I'm having a pour at home, looking at the garden. The colour is a lovely amber with hints of orange peel. Nosing it is like... sticking your toes in damp beach sand after it rained. There's that earthy note, but then it opens up into this fruit basket of tropical fruits - pineapple juice, ripe mango, even some papaya. It reminds me a bit of an improved pina colada, but drier. It's fatter yet graceful on the palate, almost like a really good dry and fruity chenin blanc that's gained some panache. There's a salty touch, like sea breeze, and vanilla. Definitely has the structure to stand longer agings. The finish is long, with tangerines and lemon citrus, and a bit of dry bark at the very end. Feels like it's in that sweet spot of 20-25 years of age, refined but still vibrant. Pretty irresistible stuff to sip slowly. Just thinking how it has that sort of Irish poise with a bit of St. Magda magic. Perfect for a quiet evening. 😉

Right, poured a generous dram, and wow — nose first. 🌺 Immediately hit with this ripe banana and papaya thing, like a tropical fruit salad. Then lemon zest pops out, very fresh. Wait, there's something salty here — adorable wee saltiness, honestly — like a beach breeze carrying seaweed and oysters. A bit of damp earth and fresh mushrooms underneath, grounding it all. Sipping now. Fatter than expected, coats the mouth nicely. Tangerines and mango up front, then more citrus — orange, maybe? Coconut sneaks in, mixed with vanilla and sweet breads. A touch of fruit peel bitterness balances it. Long finish, salty touches linger alongside pineapple juice and guava-y signature. Feels like an improved piña colada with real depth. Gosh, stands longer agings with panache and grace, this one. Cask strength doesn’t shout — it just delivers. 🥃 Tricky after the St. Magda? Maybe, but I’m savouring every bit. Perfect.

Wow, this one’s got real character. First whiff and you get that lemon and fruit peel freshness, but then there’s this deeper, sweet bready note underneath. It stands up to longer agings, you can tell. The palate is quite something – a lovely, adorable wee saltiness hits right away, like a seaside breeze. Then it turns creamy, like an improved pina colada with that vanilla and tropical fruit, especially pineapple juice. Cask strength, so it’s robust but not harsh. Mouthfeel’s gotten a tad fatter, richer, yet it still has grace. Funny, I’m getting this hint of beach sand and fresh mushrooms? Just a whisper, adding to the complexity. The tangerines come through more on the finish, which is long, long, long. An exceptional dram, really. Sip it and you’re just… there. 🥃😊

Salty little seaside vibe 🌊 Bit of seaweed, damp sand and oysters, then it goes all tropical — mango, guava, pineapple, banana. Vanilla and sweet bread in the back, with lemon peel and orange keeping it fresh. Long, fruity, slightly earthy… honestly pretty hard to stop sipping.
