Nose is quite fruity right away - apricots and plums mixing with some fresh orange juice vibes. There’s a bit of that yeasty, almost bread-like side coming through too, which is interesting. First sip, it starts quite oak-led, then softens into more stone fruits, maybe some quince too. There’s a subtle, discreet fizzy texture that gives it freshness. A little vanilla and something herbaceous, like crushed stems or a touch of menthol hiding in the background. With a few drops of water, the fruits open up more – oranges and more plums now. The mead-like sweetness seems to work very well together with the woody notes. Medium bodied overall. Finish is surprisingly long, with a funny little tang that reminds me of rhubarb. It keeps you thinking. I’d say wait for ten minutes in the glass; it really comes together then. Good stuff. 😊
