Right, poured myself a dram tonight and honestly, it's a proper beauty. Deep gold colour in the glass, caught the light brilliantly. First thing I got was this lovely honey sweetness, quite fruity too, reminded me a bit of passion fruit juice oddly enough. Then there's something fresh underneath, like green tea with a hint of mint — very subtle though, not in your face. There's a firm oakiness running through it, really well-balanced, not too much. A touch of liquorice and maybe a whisper of green pepper? Camphor comes through a bit as well, gives it this old-school character. Definitely feels like a proper old malt, you know, with that compact structure to it. Medium long finish, keeps you going nicely. The freshness stays with you. Really satisfying pour tonight, not gonna lie 😊

Oh wow, poured a glass and the colour is just this beautiful deep gold... instantly feels like something special. 🍯 The nose is all over the place – in a good way! First hit is like fresh passion fruit juice mixed with orange peel, then this lovely honeyed sweetness comes through. And there's a definite whiff of beehive, you know? That warm, waxy note. Brilliant. Takes me back... reminds me a little of apricot pie cooling on the windowsill. The oak is perfect here, giving it structure but not being too much. It's fruity and compact in the mouth, with a bit of citrus and that crystallised lemon thing popping up. There's even a hint of mint and green tea freshness in the background, which is really nice. Not drying at all, which I love. A touch of liquorice and maybe some cardamom sneaks in towards the end. The finish is medium long, leaving this firm, slightly smoky but mainly honeyed and oaky taste. An absolute old winner. 👏

Just had a dram of this whisky, and it's proper brilliant. First hit is camphor, very refreshing, then passion fruit juice and figs come through sweetly. Great oakiness from the bourbon wood, like an old malt I remember. A hint of green pepper adds a twist, with perfect oak making it firm. Notes of 72 Caperdonichs, cordamom and apricot pie. Finish is medium long, oranges and nectar, compact and beehivy. Really lovely! 🥃

First sip and it's proper deep gold in the glass, like late summer light. The nose has this polished oakiness, almost like opening an old wooden chest, but then there's a burst of crystallised lemon and honey. On the palate, it's just liquid pleasure. Waves of fruity notes—figs and oranges, a touch of passion fruit juice—and then a hint of green tea and camphor comes through, giving it a fresh edge. There's a bourbon wood sweetness in there too, really well-integrated. The finish is brilliant, turning a bit smokier and leaving a taste of spiced nectar and cardamom on the tongue. Just... wow. 🥃

Right, so this one really is liquid pleasure. First thing I get is a lovely mix of passion fruit juice and that honey, almost like beeswax warmed up. It’s got this brilliant fruity, citrusy note – definitely oranges and some crystallised lemon – with a bit of that apricot pie sweetness coming through. There’s a nice depth to it, kinda smokier and firm, but not heavy. I’m picking up on that polished oakiness and great oakiness without it being drying at all. There’s a lovely freshness in there too, like green tea and a whisper of mint. Oh, and it gets a bit interesting – a subtle hint of green pepper and cardamom, maybe some figs in the background. That beeswaxy, beehive character lingers, blending into the medium long finish with a touch of liquorice. Honestly, it’s just a really well put-together, compact, and old winner of a dram. Deep gold in the glass, feels like perfect oak and citrus all the way. Cheers. 🥃
