Well, first whiff hits you with this pepper kick, almost like crushed red peppers left in a damp cellar. There's a salty tang too, kinda makes me think of walking along a stony beach with new wellies on. The taste… honestly, it’s a proper heavy tarry one. Like licking a bit of road tar, but then there's this bready, almost sourdough-like note that comes through. Reminds me of my nan's kitchen a bit. Towards the end, you get these bitter orange peel bits and a whiff of what I can only describe as "fatter Islay" – that deep, peaty, slightly rubbery thing. It hangs around forever, that long finish. A bit of gold colour in the glass, and the mouthfeel has this oily, peaty heaviness. Almost forgot – there's this odd, not unpleasant hint that takes me back to sniffing new wellington boots as a kid. Strange, but it works.
