Popped the cork on this one and straight away… shoe polish and old wax. Not in a bad way, mind. Smells like a 1968 writing desk that someone’s been tinkering with engine oil nearby. First sip is austere as anything. Rocks, wet stones, proper mineral slap. Then a weird, lovely burst of kumquats – tart and a bit metallic – before it rolls back into inky, waxy notes. Extremely grassy too, like some grassy monsters had a philosophical argument in an old Highlands glen and just… stayed. 🌾 It’s a big big whisky. Greatly bitter, which I adore. Feels alive, honest. Not easy, but I can’t stop thinking about it.
