Smells like autumn orchard fruit - pears n' a bit of bruised apple, maybe. 🍎 There's a warm, honeyed sweetness underneath, almost like toffee but not cloying.
First sip... ooh, that's lovely. A burst of citrus zest, lemon peel, quickly followed by some baking spices. Cinnamon, I think? Just a whisper. The texture is creamy, oily. Very nice.
It develops in the glass. Now I'm getting more of the wood influence. Not sharp, more like polished oak, with a hint of vanilla pod. 🪵 The smoke is there too, but it's gentle, woven through everything. Not a campfire, more like a distant hearth on a chilly evening. 🔥
Finish is long and warming. That honeyed note returns, mixed with a bit of dried fruit and that lingering, soft smoke. Leaves a really satisfying, spiced warmth in your chest. Cracking stuff, really well balanced. 👏
You know, it just feels... comforting. Proper autumn dram, that. Would be perfect with a good book. 👍
