Popped this open a few months back and, honestly, it was a bit shy. Gave it some proper breathing and now… blimey. Deep gold in the glass, like nectar. Nose has this lovely combination of mint and liquorice, star anise, and maybe a whisper of parsley? Then the dried fruits roll in – figs, sultanas, raisins, dried pears, a spoonful of quince jelly, and a good smear of orange marmalade. It’s got a proper Christmassy side. There’s rich Sauternes-like sweetness too, honeycomb, pollen. Vegetal notes hang about in a great way. The palate’s rounder now, and the finish is long with old sweet wine in the aftertaste. No water needed, perfect strength. Really improved after a few months, improved a lot with quite some breathing. Makes those lousy ‘best of 2012’ lists look daft. Got that classic Speyside soul, like those old drams everyone chases. Pretty perfect, this. 🍯🥃

Feels quite cosy — a bit of honey, gentle spice, and soft oak. Warm, mellow, with a wee fruity lift 🍯🥃 Nice slow sip for a quiet evening.

Lovely wee dram 🥃 Bit of honey, oak, and soft spice. Feels warm, mellow, and slightly creamy, with a gentle smoky touch at the end. Quite comforting, honestly.

Right, so this one’s a proper fireside sipper. 🥃 Nose is like walking into a warm bakery—sticky toffee pudding, a bit of burnt orange peel, maybe a whisper of woodsmoke. First wee taste… ooft. Honey’d nuts, dried apricots, then a wee kick of clove and cinnamon right at the back. Not harsh, just… *present*. Mouthfeel’s silky, almost oily. Coats yer whole gob. Finish hangs about—gentle peat, dark choc, and a slight saltiness like sea spray on a scone. 😮‍💨 Aye, a dram for a dreich night. Cheers to that.

Lovely cosy dram 🥃 Bit of honey, soft spice, dried fruit and a gentle smoky edge. Feels warm, smooth, and easy to sit with on a rainy evening. Quite moreish, tbh.
