Tobacco hit right upfront, mixed with what felt like moist cake crumbs – strange but pleasant. Later, hints of something like oriental pastries came through, almost a drop of Chartreuse in the background.
Then it shifted, turning more tropical. Overripe apples, and honestly, some superb peaches stewed in mint sauce. No harsh woodiness at all. Almond biscuits too, like those you’d have with tea. This one deserved a spot on the podium, for sure.
So many layers – mangos, various teas and fruits, reminding me of very old cognac at points. Brioche and medium body, with fresh mint weaving in. Soft spices, a touch sharing traits with Bowmore maybe? A precious black tea note, orange blossom and honey. The herbal and fruity development was superb, amazingly fresh for its age.
A bit of kugelhopf texture, praline sweetness. Really, no weakness detected. The color was a beautiful full gold. Ended with a gentle Verbena hint. Sip after sip, complex yet so enjoyable. 😊
